Completely overhauled and freshly restored, this elegant Victorian cedar chest has been carefully brought back to life while retaining the character and beautiful natural figuring of the original timber. Fitted with new hardwood runners and finished with a traditional hand-applied French polish, it is both visually striking and structurally excellent.

Restoration and condition:
The original cedar plank sides, top and drawer fronts are in very good cosmetic condition, with no cracks to the main external surfaces. All five drawers have been completely rebuilt, re-glued and re-nailed where required. They sit straight and flush and operate smoothly on their new hardwood runners.
The original drawer rails and guides remain in very good condition and have been re-glued and re-screwed where necessary. A hairline crack to the lower section of the top-right drawer has been professionally repaired, while a small damaged section to the left side of the bottom drawer has been replaced with new cedar using epoxy adhesive and long screws for strength.
The result is a beautifully restored Victorian cedar chest with excellent structural integrity, impressive timber figuring and ample practical storage.
