A9122 Restored Edwardian Kauri Five-Drawer Chest, c. 1910–1925
Completely restored from the ground up, this handsome Edwardian chest has been carefully rebuilt internally to provide excellent structural strength and smooth, reliable everyday function. Constructed from solid Kauri Pine and finished with a traditional hand-applied shellac French polish and beeswax finish, it combines original character with comprehensive professional restoration.

Restoration and condition: The chest has been completely rebuilt internally, with new drawer rails, side guides and internal blocking installed. Each drawer has been fitted with new hardwood runners, while the original drawer bases have been refitted and re-nailed. The drawers now sit correctly and open and close smoothly and securely. Hairline cracks to the side panels and top have been carefully repaired with high-strength compound before the traditional French-polish finish was applied.
