Overall a highly functional set of drawers from the late 1800s. The drawers are structurally excellent, function seamlessly and have been built, reglued and re-nailed where required. All drawer bases are free from cracks and have been removed and refitted to restore the drawer's structural integrity. New runners installed to all drawers, except the left top-hat drawer and two small centre drawers (not required as original runners show negligible wear). The drawer locks to the two small central drawers and right top-hat drawer are none functional (internal mechanisms broken - aesthetic only). The solid Cedar plank top, sides, drawer fronts have lovely distressed features and natural patina. Minor hairline cracks to the top and left side have been stabilised - filled with high strength bonding compound and reinforced from behind with cedar panels. All original backboards in great condition.
