Restoration and condition: The drawers are structurally excellent and have been rebuilt, re-glued and re-nailed where required. Their bases are free from cracks and have been removed and refitted to restore structural integrity. New runners have been fitted to all drawers except the left top-hat drawer and two small centre drawers, whose original runners show negligible wear. Key provided to assist with sliding out both secret drawers (handless). 
The locks on the two small central drawers and the right top-hat drawer are non-functional because their internal mechanisms are broken; they are retained for decorative purposes. The solid Cedar top, sides and drawer fronts display attractive age-related distressing and natural patina. Minor hairline cracks to the top and left side have been stabilised, filled with high-strength bonding compound and reinforced from behind with Cedar panels. All original back-boards remain in excellent condition.
