Restoration and condition: All seven drawers have been completely rebuilt, re-glued and re-nailed, with their bases removed and refitted. New timber cross-members and support blocks have been installed beneath the drawers to provide additional strength and rigidity beyond the original construction.
New, non-original hardwood drawer bases have been fitted to the two lower large drawers, and the frame of the lowest drawer has been completely replaced using non-original timber. All drawers sit straight and flush and operate smoothly on their new runners. The internal drawer rails and guides have been realigned, glued and screwed where required.
The external Cedar plank top, sides and drawer fronts are in very good condition, with no stains or significant dents. All original tongue-and-groove back-boards have been re-nailed and remain in excellent order.
