A9102- Restored Victorian Cedar Cotton Reel Chest of Drawers. Circa 1880. Restored, fitted with all new drawer runners and hand polished using traditional methods, this elegant set of drawers from the 1800s boasts.

Shellac French polish and beeswax finish.
Seven structurally excellent, smooth functioning drawers.
Clean internal drawer surfaces.
Original turned Cedar handles and screws (complete with no damage or parts missing).
Original brass drawer locks and brass keyhole inserts.
New runners fitted to all seven drawers.
New replacement drawer stops.
Original turned Cedar legs fitted with new anti-scratch pads.
Lovely natural patina and darkening of the Cedar.
Decorative full length cotton reel half columns on either side.
 
Another ornate Victorian piece dating around 1880. The seven drawers have been completely rebuilt, reglued, re-nailed and had their bases refitted. New timber cross members and blocks installed to the underside of the drawers to provide added strength and rigidity (above and beyond original). New, non-original hardwood drawer bases installed to the two bottom large drawers. The entire frame of the largest/very bottom drawer has been completely replaced (non-original). All sit straight and flush and function like new on their new runners. The internal drawer rails and guides have been re-aligned, glued, screwed. The external Cedar plank top, sides and drawer fronts are in very nice condition with no stains or significant dents. All the original tongue and groove backboards have been re-nailed and are in great order also.
