A9101 - Restored Five Drawer Victorian Red Cedar Chest. Circa 1890. Thoroughly brought back to life by the team at MRBEAMS.COM.AU, complete with all new hardwood drawer runners and a hand French polish, this compact five drawer features.
Hand crafted from solid Cedar
Traditional Shellac and beeswax finish.
Five solid and sturdy as new functioning Cedar drawers.
Original turned Cedar handles.
Lightweight yet sturdy construction.
Original brass locks and keyhole inserts.
New hardwood drawer runners to all five drawers.
New internal drawer guides and stops where required
Original turned Cedar legs fitted with new commercial grade anti-scratch pads.
Gorgeous woodgrain figuring.

Another highly functional chest from the late 1800s, now all set for everyday use. The external Cedar surfaces are in very good order, free from cracks and major dents (some minor dents consistent with age). A small section of the left side front of the very bottom drawer has been replaced. The original drawers have been completely rebuilt, reglued, nailed and screwed where required. The original drawer bases have been refitted, renailed and new timber cross members have been installed to the underside to provide additional load bearing strength (High strength glue and nails used). All five sit straight and flush and function perfectly (like new).  The internal drawer rails and guide are in very good original condition and show minimal wear. They have also been re-glued and renailed where required. Original backboards intact and renailed.
