Restoration and condition: The original internal drawer rails and guides remain in very good condition and have been re-blocked, re-nailed and re-glued where required. All five drawers are structurally excellent, sit straight and flush, and operate smoothly. Their bases have been removed and refitted to close shrinkage-related gaps, with new timber cross-members installed beneath the lower drawers for additional strength.
The external plank top, sides and drawer fronts are in lovely condition, with no significant cracks or dents. A hairline mark to the right side of the first long drawer is cosmetic only and affects the thin Mahogany veneer; the drawer front itself is not cracked. The original back-boards are sound and have been re-nailed where needed.
