A9095 -Large Restored Victorian Cedar Cotton Reel Six Drawer Tallboy. Circa 1880. Completely overhauled, rebuilt and fitted with all new drawer runners, this tall and slender profile chest features.

New drawer runners (All drawers).

Original turned Cedar legs with new commercial grade anti-scratch pads installed.

Overall a great example from the late Vicrorian era. The original internal drawer rails are in great condition with minimal wear and have been re-glued, reblocked and nailed. All six drawers are structurally excellent with no pre-existing repairs (no signs of movement in their structure). Where necessary, the drawer bases have been removed and refitted to remove rattles and to close up gaps (resulting from shrinkage over the last 140+ years). All sit straight and flush and function perfectly (as new). The external Cedar plank top, sides and drawer fronts are in great cosmetic condition with no significant dents (some minor dents consistent with age). The crack in the middle of the left side (due to natural shrinkage of the Cedar panel) has been filled with high strength compound, reinforced from behind, filled and colour matched before French polishing. The original backboards are in perfect order also.
