Freshly restored and finished with traditional hand-applied French polish, this refined Victorian Cedar chest combines elegant period detailing, sound construction and practical everyday storage.

Restoration and condition: The original drawer bases have been removed, refitted and re-nailed to address shrinkage-related gaps. All drawers have been re-glued and re-nailed where necessary, remain structurally solid, sit straight and flush, and operate smoothly. A new base has been fitted to the right side of the lowest drawer, with a new timber cross-member installed beneath it for additional strength.
New hardwood runners have been fitted to all drawers except the upper-left top-hat drawer, whose original runners show minimal wear. The original internal Cedar rails and guides remain in excellent condition with minimal wear, with high-strength wood glue reapplied to the joins where required. The solid Cedar plank top, drawer fronts and sides are in very good original condition, with no significant stains or dents. All original Cedar back-boards remain in good order.
