A9054 - Immaculate Solid Mahogany Four Drawer Victorian Style Chest. Circa 1950-1960. Structurally and cosmetically one of the best examples we have come across. Completely restored and designed for a lifetime of use, this finely crafted example features.
Solid Australian Mahogany construction.
Hardwearing oil based satin polyurethane finish (Four coats)
New timber runners to all drawers.
Original brass escutcheon/keyholes.
Original turned Mahogany handles complete with wooden screws.
Original brass drawer drawer locks.
Very solid/heavy duty build quality (1.4 -2.0cm cm thick Mahogany drawer frames with 0.7cm thick drawer bases).

Original turned Mahogany legs (new anti-scratch pads installed).

Another flawless set of drawers, handmade in Australia around the late 50s early 60s. All drawers are structurally perfect with no preexisting repairs and function better than new (very smooth and quiet). All four drawer bases have been removed and reinstalled/refitted and realigned to allow for natural shrinkage over the years. The solid Mahogany drawer fronts, sides and top are in flawless condition with no dents, chips or stains (like new). Original tongue and groove backboards in flawless order. Constructed from harwood it is extremely heavy for its size (even with drawers removed) - two strong people required to take it away.
