Solid Mahogany and Mahogany veneer construction.

Traditional shellac hand French polish finish.

Cockbeaded drawer fronts.

Five structurally excellent as new functioning hand dovetailed Mahogany drawers.

Original turned Mahogany handles.

Original extra large brass escutcheon inserts.

Original brass drawer locks.

New hardwood runners to all drawers.

New drawer stops.

Anti-scratch foot pads fitted.

Overall a very functional set of drawers, now set for the next 180 years of service. The drawers have been completely rebuilt, realigned, reglued where necessary, re-nailed and fitted with all new hardwood drawer runners. New timber crossmembers fitted to the underside of all drawers to provide additional strength to the original Mahogany drawer bases (installed using nails and high-strength glue) . All five sit straight and flush and function like new (smooth and quiet). Original cockbeading surounding drawers in excellent condition. Sections originally missing have been replaced with new Mahogany cockbeading sourced from the same era (mid 1800s). The external Mahogany top, sides and drawer fronts are in great shape with no cracks or significant dents. The original Mahogany tongue and groove backboards have been refitted and renailed also.
