Solid Australian Cedar construction.
Traditional shellac, hand French polished and finished with beeswax.

A truly exemplary piece and without question one of the finest  examples we have had. All seven drawers are structurally excellent, have been renailed and reglued where required, sit straight and flush and function perfectly. Surprisingly, the internal drawer surfaces are as clean as new and appear to have never been used since the late 1800s. The external Cedar surfaces have no significant dents or imperfections. Original Cedar backboards in perfect order. If you are a discerning antique chest shopper, look no further.
