A8040 – Large Restored Victorian Flame Mahogany Chest of Drawers. Circa 1880. Freshly hand French polished and ready for a new home, this striking example boast,
- Solid Mahogany and Mahogany veneer construction.
- Solid and sturdy fabrication.
- Traditional high gloss shellac finish.
- Five smooth functioning, hand-dovetailed drawers
- Centred Mother of Pearl turned handles, complete with wooden screws.
- Original brass drawer locks and escutcheon.
- New hardwood drawer runners to bottom drawer.
- Original turned legs.
Another exquisite example from the late 1800s. The original drawer runners are in exceptional condition, with very minimal wear. All five drawers are solid, sit straight and flush and open and close perfectly (smooth and quiet). New hardwood drawer stops installed. The top, sides and drawer fronts of the chest are cosmetically excellent with very few imperfections or minor dents (no cracks or splits). Slightly larger profile with a generous storage capacity. The original backboards are in great condition also.
